Lovepotion #11 contains the following Chinese herbs:
CISTANCHE a.k.a. BROOMRAPE, EUCOMMIA BARK, WOLFBERRIES,
EPIMEDIUM a.k.a. HORNY GOAT WEED,
CORNUS FRUIT and
GANODERMA MUSHROOM.
The ingredient MUIRA PUAMA a.k.a. POTENCY WOOD comes from Africa. I learned
about the CUBEB BERRIES from Hildegard of Bingen, a medieval nun and visionary.
She claims they soothe the heart, clear the senses and lift ones
spirits - all the things needed when love is concerned. Then there is
DAMIANA from Mexico, the Latin name is TUNERA APHRODISIA. YERBA MATE is
included from South America, and KELP adds minerals. Depending on availability
there is a small amount of KAVA KAVA, a relaxant, and SIBERIAN GINSENG
for adaptability. These herbs are made into a tincture by steeping in vodka, honey is added to smooth the taste.
The first
lovepotion was born at Topanga Days 1999, when I made a large batch of
